BuildersThank you for checking the neighborhood website. Here you will find documents outlining the specific requirements for building within the community - these are supplemental to the CC&R's and do require your signature before the project will gain approval by the ECC.
Our Environmental Compliance Committee is comprised of three residents as well as a Compliance Manager who helps monitor and advise the ECC and the Board on construction projects. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Who should closing attorneys contact for verification of owner status regarding dues, liens, and/or assessments? You may contact our secretary at [email protected] or our treasurer directly at [email protected] for this information.
- How do new owners provide their contact information ? This New Owner Contact Form should be completed upon closing by any new owner of property in The Highlands.
- What are the fees associated with the neighborhood? This Fee Schedule outlines all of the fees currently charged by the Association. Transfer fees may be mailed to HoLK Owners Association, PO Box 107, Six Mile, SC 29682.
- What does it mean that a lot has a "deeded boat slip"? Each interior lot has a community boat slip permanent assigned to it. Please see this map showing which dock is assigned to each property.
- Does the community restrict rentals? Yes. Short term (less than 1 year) are not permitted in The Highlands on Lake Keowee. No VRBO or AirBnB rentals are allowed. Long term (greater than 1 year) are allowed following the guidelines in the Amendment to the CC&R's linked above.
- Are there restrictions to the number and type of animals/pets allowed? There is no livestock allowed within the community and household pets are limited to three, with the exception of a pet having offspring. Please see the CC&R's, Sect 9.18 for details.
- How can a client or potential owner find out more about the community? Potential owners can reach us through the CONTACT form on this website. We can provide you with general community information as well as answer specific questions you may have.
- How do I know if a property's existing dock is within Duke compliance? Visit Duke Lake Services for more information on this and many other subjects pertaining to the lake.
